Dermatology
Covering the whole body, the skin is the largest and one of the most vital of human organs. A dermatologist should be consulted if more-or-less apparent changes occur in the skin, (e.g. inflammation, eczema, scaling, dry skin, warts or age-related pigmentation). Precise examination of every pattern of disease is especially important in order to acquire a definite diagnosis prior to treatment. The analysis of tissue samples in the special histological laboratory is particularly important in distinguishing between malignant and benign skin growth before possible skin cancer is removed in an outpatient operation. The dermatological diagnostics of the following skin diseases are very significant today:
- Neurodermatitis
- Psoriasis
- Eczema diseases
- Fungal diseases of the skin and nails
- Hair loss
- Skin cancer
- Bacterial and viral skin diseases
